Connecticut temple. This is the first temple in Connecticut . Moroni is a symbol of the restoration of Jesus Christ. He told Joseph Smith where the golden plates where so Joseph Smith could create the Book of Mormon. "With the horn pressed to his lips and his right hand holding the outstretched horn, the statue of Moroni symbolizes the preaching of the gospel to the world." Many community members, even those who don't follow the Mormon belief, came to the event to see the lifting of the statue.
This shows us that some people are able to appreciate something larger than differentiating religious. The statue is important to many Mormons and it was seen at this ceremony. Many community members could also see this and came to celebrate this mile stone in Hartford.
